Nopal Jovencito (The Young Cactus) and Nopal Del Norte (The Northern Cactus) were inspired by Mesoamerican's Mexican peoples' (Aztecs) mission to find a new place to settle. They would know they had found their new home in the place where they found an eagle atop of a cactus eating a snake. Mexica people found that place in the Valley of Mexico, when it was Tenochitlan, now called Mexico city. As a Mexican Native, I use this history to remake Glass Nopales to tell one of the stories of where I am from and where my new home of Washington is for the past 20 years.
