Collection: Turn of the Centuries

Trained as an architect, historian and urbanist, Kirsten is drawn to the structure of Places as well as their sensory and emotive qualities. She uses ink line, graphite, natural pigment from rocks or soil, watercolor, and sometimes thread, to render beloved Places as Art Maps. Sensory experiences, memories, relationships made in Place: these make us who we are becoming! She draws and paints every map by hand in her home studio in Tacoma.
