This catalog is published in conjunction with Tacoma Art Museum’s exhibition, Best of the Northwest: Selected Paintings from the Collection. It includes a selection of the museum’s collection of over 3,200 pieces of Northwest art. TAM’s collection of Northwest art consists of works from the 1930s to today, providing a history of art through the decades. Margaret E. Bullock’s essay briefly outlines the vast influences of Northwest artists, while Rock Hushka discusses Northwest art and how it works to create identity.
